Everyone loves the Nathion Fillion Uncharted fan film, but me.

When I watched this I was impressed that they could fit 3 hours of tropey crap into 15 minutes. Before I go on I'll let you watch...

First, let's talk about Nathan Fillion, he plays only one character, and I am starting to think it's Nathan Fillion. Don't get me wrong I love this character but from Mal, to Castle, to Cayde, and now Drake they've all been the same guy. I call the characters Fillion plays The-Average-Guy-That-Really-Isn't,-That-I-Think-Is-Me,-But-Isn't,-because-he's-cool. It's a bit of a mouth full. There is nothing wrong with playing an archetype, but we have too many tropes here to add this one to it even when no one plays it better.

From the start, we all could have mouthed the words to this on our first watch through. bag over head...banter...tourture...buddy nearby...handcuff key. Lots of times these kinds of tropes are fun but only when you start playing with them and turn them on their heads. Another star created test film, Dead Pool did just that. This short just took the easy route and knew we all just wanted to see Fillion as Drake and slapped something together. For me, this did just the opposite, I'm ready for a Fillion break.
