If you are a Mighty Morphin Power Rangers fan stop reading this and go buy every issue of their Boom Studios run. It is amazing and still going. That series retells the story starting with Tommy joining the team, but they now also have a run that covers the origin of the original five. They are taking the story beyond the show even covering stuff from long after they stop being rangers. Just announced is a story about a middle aged Tommy having to save his son and needing help from past friends and enemies. I can't recommend it enough.
But I must say that even though this new comic series dives a little deeper into how the group adjusts to Tommy going from evil to team member, I still don't buy it. Is there any group more petty than highschoolers. It's right there in the opening that they have 'attitudes'. To make it worse it's not like they defeated him and broke the spell. He owned them, five on one. That's got to hurt their fragile self esteem. I imagine they would bring that shit up everyday for the next year at least.
Side note SH figurarts is accepting pre-orders for a white ranger figure with removable helmet and a separate head with an actual rendering of Tommy's face. They are also making red and green ranger figures with head sculpts, but the jerks are making them Comic Con exclusives. I'm currently saving up to cover the huge mark up I'll be paying on ebay the weekend after. Oh well.
